Highland FTC 2014 Spring Trial June 7 & 8

Hello Everyone, the Highland Field Trial Club hopes to see everyone this coming weekend for the 2014 Spring Trial that was originally March 15 & 16.  The weather will be a little different from the March postponed trial as we will experience the other side of the spectrum with the famous Highland Heat!
Please bring plenty of water as we cannot guarantee the water pump working (as of this past weekend it was).  The Highland club will put water tubs in strategic areas for your dog to replenish in, also remember to bring water on your brace for your canine competitor and yourself.  We will start as early as possible.

Regarding order of running, this will be determined with entries. The Majority of entries will probably call in Wednesday before the draw, as people will be watching the weather.

2014 USCSDA Great Lakes Regional Championship

Well folks another one in the books for the 2014 USCSDA Great Lakes Regional Championship.
There was a mix of weather for the 2 day trial that drew 25 quality dogs, that was hosted by the Grand Valley bird Dog Club of New Hudson Michigan.  The positive Judging for the championship was performed by two horseback gentleman from Michigan who gave there undivided attention, Bill Branham of Carleton, Mi. and Bill Klenner of Belleville, Mi.

The Trial was ran for 2 days, with six braces the first day Friday under cloudy rain and Saturday being a Sunny windy.

There was a champion and runner-up champion named in this trial.

Lunch on Friday was Pizza provided by the club to keep everyone's energy level up.  On Saturday, Jimmy Cipp brought in the Pro Staff from the Highland Club, the Team Sposita, consisting of Ron Sr. and Ron Jr.  The meal was funded by last years winner Champion Craig Merlington whose dog "Call Me Kate" won. 
The meal of Pasta and Meatballs accompanied with a well seasoned pork tenderloin.
The meal was well received and the judges and the handlers were glad there was only 2 braces left.

At the end of the meal a Cake was presented by the Grand Valley Bird Dog Club to last year Winning Champion " Call Me Kate", Craig Merlington  the cake for everyone.
